Catch us while you can folks, this is our final screening for our 2025 Winter Sessions!Artisan street food, sweet tunes, licensed bar, indie short films and cult classic feature flicks are what we're all about, as we keep it all indoors at Cult Cinema Club this Winter!
We'll be signing off our 2025 Winter Sessions with the Baz Luhrmann classic, ROMEO + JULIET (1996).
Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes, Baz Luhrmann reimagines this timeless Shakespearian love story in a contemporary setting while preserving Shakespeare’s original dialogue. Set in the vibrant yet dangerous city of Verona Beach, the film follows the passionate and forbidden romance between Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet, two young lovers from rival families. With a visually stunning aesthetic, a powerful soundtrack, and intense performances, Romeo + Juliet brings Shakespeare’s legendary tale to life.
From 5pm - 7pm, DELICIOUS DOSA food truck will be serving mouthwatering Indian street food dinner options, accompanied by smooth brews from MOUNT BREWING CO BREWERY and candy bar refreshments from the Cult Cinema Club pop-up licensed bar located inside the Village Cinema.
Being our last event for 2025, we're going out in style with sublime Tauranga-based singer-songwriter Frances Ellen. Expect an evening of warm, evocative original tunes, woven together in a dreamy performance, featuring Jackie McCaughan on violin.
Lights down in the cinema from 7pm where cinema-goers are invited to settle in and indulge in top-shelf cinematic viewing with Aotearoa independent short film SPRING JAM, supported by Film Bay of Plenty, followed by Baz Luhrmann's ROMEO + JULIET!
