Join Oak View based community herbalist, Lauren Kirkpatrick, for an afternoon of education in the ways of culinary herbalism. Together we will explore accessible and practical ways to integrate herbal wisdom into our kitchens and further our understanding of the vast array of ways we can work with everyday herbal allies.
Lauren Kay is an herbalist based in Oak View, CA, where her deep-rooted appreciation for wild food and the natural world shines through. Growing up in a family that valued a close relationship with Mother Earth, Lauren has always seen nature as a powerful teacher, healer, and ally. With extensive experience in both the food industry and the herbalist community, Lauren’s journey has been enriched by years of study alongside esteemed herbalists and foragers. Her recent graduation from Artemisia Academy’s ‘Community Herbalist’ program marks a significant milestone in her commitment to integrating herbalism into her work. Thus it was only natural for her to incorporate herbal medicine into culinary creations, by way of the cauldron, from root to fungi & leaf to bloom. In 2022, she founded ‘Sea Soil Sky Botanicals & Adventure’. Sea Soil Sky is a business dedicated to providing a welcoming place for anyone to “Experience Earth’s Ingredients” through herb and fungi tea, tisane, powder, and interactive photography.
