Ópera Cultura presents CUENTOS!Conceived and created by Composer/Librettist Héctor Armienta, CUENTOS is a two-part song cycle inspired by the true stories of immigrants and farmworkers. This is a main-stage production by Ópera Cultura in collaboration with Teatro Alebrijes.
CUENTOS highlights the heart wrenching and true stories of Mexican immigrants who immigrated to the United States and Farmworkers who continued to work during the pandemic. Directed by Rodrigo García and conducted by Temirzhan Yerzhanov, the cast includes three professional opera singers: tenor Sergio González, soprano Stephanie Ortiz, and mezzo-soprano Rosa Aranda—as well as musicians, actors and community members.
The Performance is scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 3pm at the Mexican Heritage Theater—School of Arts and Culture, located at 1700 Alum Rock Ave., San José, CA 95116.
