Let's get ready for the holiday seaon! In this class, we’ll be making homemade Italian fig cookies, known as cuccidati. This is a dying skill that not everyone has the stamina to create in their own kitchens anymore. The recipe for cuccidati I use is my grandmother’s. She is no longer here with us, but I’d LOVE to share this nostalgic tradition with you, to honor all the many pounds of Italian cookies my grandparents would make for our family each holiday season. This class will be more instructive and hands on than our decorating classes. Class amount will be limited, for a more intimate experience, and we’ll be working in small groups to create cookie dough, fig filling, and assembling product. You’ll receive a few recipes to try out at home, and when we’re through, you’ll be able to take the cookies you worked on in class home with you. They’ll store fine if you’d like to save for the following Mother’s Day weekend, as they freeze perfectly if you’d like to save to enjoy anytime in the next few months!
Minimum age for this particular class is 16 years old. Every person in the room must register to participate. Class registration will be capped at 14 people.
