For some the perception is that children must be still in order to focus, especially while learning to read. Students from UCA’s Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the College of Health & Behavioral Sciences are looking to prove otherwise. Reading in Motion will test the studies that show how movement is beneficial to the learning processes of young readers. Our students will work with 1-2 children per group, focusing on the basics of reading and comprehension. Ten minutes of physical activity will be incorporated into each session to stimulate your child’s senses, increasing brain activity, concentration and memory.
