Alissa & Hamish will lead a workshop series focusing on body movement, musicality, and the ability to add pauses and playfulness to your dance. While most classes focus on figures, we want to empower students to feel the music and dance in between complex figures. When we can enjoy and be creative with our movement in each moment, every dance can become a great experience even when you are just doing the basic steps. Let’s play and connect!
Afterward, join us for a party at Salamanca Art Centre at 8pm to dance the night away!

11:00 - 11:30 - Meet & Greet
Come early to check in and have a warm up dance or a quick chat with friends
11:30 - 12:15 - Corporality
Body movement instruction and drills with styling suggestions for both leads and follows
12:30 - 1:15 - Musicality
Explore the sections of a Timba song
1:30 - 2:30 - Pausing and Playing
Take time to connect with your partner and enjoy your dance
2:45 - 3:45 - Despelote
Learn how to dance in the Bomba Section
3:45 - 4:00 - Final Questions and open dance
