Featured Performance: Mario y su Timbeko
Formed by Cuban singer, songwriter, and percussionist Mario “Mayito” Salomón, Mario y su Timbeko is renowned for blending elements of R&B, gospel, jazz, and funk into the sounds of popular Cuban salsa, also known as timba. Originally established in Oakland, California, the band has become one of the greatest Stateside practitioners of timba.

Mario Salomón, born in 1982 in Florida, Camagüey, Cuba, began his musical journey at an early age, influenced by the rich musical environment of his hometown. He studied at the Escuela para la Superación del Arte, where he honed his skills in percussion and composition.
