Join us for an exciting in-person event where you can learn and perfect the vibrant Cuban dance style, Casino! Led by renowned instructors - Steven Messina, from North Carolina, and Clara Nieto, from Cuba and based in Ithaca, NY - these workshops will immerse you in the thrilling world of Cuban dance.

Time: Three one-hour workshops with Steven and Clara at 11 a.m., 12:15 pm and 1:30 pm. Bonus Rueda de Casino workshop with Fiona Ortiz at 2:45 pm.
Location: Irish American Heritage Center, 4626 North Knox Avenue, Chicago, IL. We have a huge wooden floor to dance on!
About the event:
Whether you're curious about Cuban-style salsa, or an experienced Casinero, these workshops offer something for everyone. Steven and Clara will guide you through Casino fundamental steps and body movement, helping you develop your skills and confidence on the dance floor. For advanced dancers, the instructors will help you refine your technique and challenge you with new moves and styling.
Steven is well-known nationally and around the world, from his popular on-line and Youtube dance classes.
Clara is an absolute joy to learn from. She brings enormous talent and energy to Cuban dance classes and workshops. Chicago Casineros dancers have attended her inspiring workshops at Cuban dance weekenders in New Orleans, Atlanta and beyond.

Logistics:
PARKING: Ample street parking in the neighborhood.
FOOD: We will not have a lunch break at the workshops, which go from 11-4. We recommend a hearty, late breakfast for dancers. Bring snacks. Plan for an early dinner after the workshops.
REFUNDS: In case of cancellation of the event, your base ticket price will be refunded. The Eventbrite ticket fee will NOT be refunded.
