Blending reverb-soaked production with minimalist electronics, The KVB's ever-evolving cold wave always reflects their mastery of atmosphere. Singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Nicholas Wood formed The KVB in 2010 as a solo project while living in Southampton, England. The following year, vocalist/keyboardist/visual artist Kat Day joined Wood, and the KVB released their debut album, Always Then (Clan Destine Records, 2012).
On such early releases, Kat Day and Nicholas Wood's brittle beats and sonic blasts evoked Cabaret Voltaire and the Jesus and Mary Chain in equal measure. Later, the duo's style encompassed the streamlined, sharp-edged sounds of 2018's Only Now Forever, the spacious vistas of 2021's Unity, and the darkly danceable moods of 2024's Tremors.
For their 9th studio album, the duo returned to Invada Records, releasing Tremors in April 2024. Revisiting the KVB's industrial and post-punk fundamentals, the album's dystopian pop was informed in part by Jorge Luis Borges' short stories about the shifting nature of truth.

Tobă Moarte is an eclectic duo that goes for lo-fi/noise-rock/darkwave that started in 2022 in an art workshop in Bucharest, by Miruna Radovici and Vlad Stoica. With a scene thirsty for bands and acts that are exploring a wide variety of genres, while also creating their own identity within it, Tobă Moarte is more than a refreshing and promising act that will make a lasting impression and fill in a lot of the gaps just through their sheer performance.
