ctrl LIVE: She Past AwayOn March 26, 2025, She Past Away brings their darkwave magic back to ctrl, drenching the venue in brooding synths, reverb-heavy guitars, and hypnotic beats. Their music, often described as a haunting blend of post-punk and goth, evokes feelings of nostalgia while pushing the boundaries of modern darkwave.
Among their most popular works is Belirdi Gece (2012), the debut album that first put She Past Away on the map. Featuring songs like Kasvetli Kutlama and Ritüel, the record introduced the band’s distinct sound – minimalist yet powerful, with Volkan Caner’s deep vocals weaving through dark, shimmering synths and drum patterns.
With the release of their follow-up album “Narin Yalnızlık” in May 2015, the duo established themselves as one of the most influential and successful genre-defining acts of dark wave music and scored numerous crowd-puller performances all around the world. In December 2018, the band signed to Metropolis Records and re-issued both albums
in North America.
The band graced the audience with a beautifully dark and driving new album “Disko Anksiyete” via Metropolis Records and Fabrika Records in May 2019.
In May 2020, the band celebrated their tenth anniversary with the remix album “X”, including remixes from Boy Harsher, The Soft Moon, Clan of Xymox, Front 242, Lebanon Hanover and many more.
In October 2020, the first ever live studio recording of the band was released with the title “Part Time Punks Session”.
She Past Away is a driving, mesmerizing outburst of sentimental anxiety through the nihilistic mind-frame. It is both personal and broad, like a wandering mind brave enough to question taboo and existence.
