Control is about to host one of the most electrifying bands of our time. On May 10, 2025, Porridge Radio, the Brighton quartet renowned for their emotionally charged indie rock, will fill the room with their signature blend of jagged intensity and cathartic release.Porridge Radio are a London based band from the UK, formed in Brighton in 2015 around band leader Dana Margolin. The band’s powerful live performances and rawly emotive lyrics have garnered a dedicated following, with their previous 2 albums Mercury Prize shortlisted ('Every Bad') and entering the Top 40 ('Waterslide...').
Their barbed wit, lacerating intensity and potent blend of art-rock, indie-pop and post-punk sounds like little else around, and led to their 2020 album Every Bad making the coveted Mercury Prize shortlist.
If Every Bad established Dana’s lemon-sharp, heart-on-sleeve honesty, Porridge Radio’s third album takes that to anthemic new heights. Waterslide, Diving Board, Ladder To The Sky is the sound of someone in their mid-twenties facing down the disappointment of love, and life, and figuring out how to exist in the world, without claiming any answers. With Waterslide, Diving Board, Ladder To The Sky, Porridge Radio have distilled their myriad influences down like they’re flipping through their own singular dial: dreamy yet intense, gentle but razor-edged, widescreen and yet totally intimate.
In October 2024, Porridge Radio - with keyboardist Georgie Stott, drummer Sam Yardley and bassist Dan Hutchins alongside Margolin - released their critically acclaimed fourth album, 'Clouds In The Sky They Will Always Be There For Me', on label Secretly Canadian. Produced by Dom Monks (Big Thief, Laura Marling) and recorded live, 'Clouds…' delves even deeper into themes of love, loss, and personal growth.
