Don Young is an artist, environmental advocate, and co-founder of Friends of Tandy Hills Natural Area. He and his wife, Debora, have three adult children. His internationally acclaimed archive on Italian film director Federico Fellini highlights his passion for art and culture.
A dedicated environmental activist, Don founded the world’s first anti-fracking organization, organized the first public protest against fracking in 2004, and hosted the first anti-fracking art show at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center in 2009-2010. His advocacy has earned numerous awards, including honors from NPSOT (three times), the American Institute of Architects, the Memnosyne Foundation, and Green Source DFW (two Environmental Leadership Awards). He’s also been recognized with six Best of Fort Worth Weekly Awards, including Rabblerouser of the Year, and the Star-Telegram’s Best Place to Stand in North Texas Award for his essay on Tandy Hills.
