The CSYO Concert Orchestra plays its first concert under the baton of Dr. Antoine Clark. The program opens with Price’s Concert Overture No. 2, a once lost but rediscovered piece that weaves together well-known African American spirituals such as "Go Down Moses" and "Ev’ry Time I Feel the Spirit." Ballade by Coleridge-Taylor features exciting climaxes and tender passages connected in what can be described as the musical version of a literary ballad. To close, Tian’s modern work Broken Ink creates different musical pictures in each movement, inspired by traditional Chinese art forms.
