144 Avenue over West Nose Creek Bridge Presentation
Description:
Join us for a presentation covering the engineering and design journey behind 144th Avenue over West Nose Creek bridge!
With existing growth in Symons Valley and planned growth in the Glacier Ridge Area in Northwest Calgary, the City of Calgary identified the need to complete a missing link of 144th Avenue NW across West Nose Creek from 24 Street NW to Symons Valley Road.
144th Avenue is expected to become an essential link the area transportation network for both the existing residents of northwest Calgary and more than 60,000 expected future residents. Working for the City of Calgary, ISL designed a new creek crossing using a single span 51-meter-long prestressed NU-Girder Bridge.
This presentation would go over the project background, design challenges, the several bridge options explored, existing constraints, realignment of West Nose Creek, provide the details on the final recommended structural system, and an update on the construction progress.
