A group of young good-for-nothings, titles the "drapes" are riveled against the "squares", another subculture in the town. A drape and a square fall in love and must overcome the consequences of their romance.
The film was a box office failure but gained a cult following that helped it rise to fame and still be beloved by movie-watchers today. It's dark, witty, and camp, in true John Waters fashion.
