20/44 House is open for live concerts! We will have Crvi and Qurdi on Saturday, December 13th.
Belgrade’s alternative rock band Crvi has been active since 2014. The group’s main creative and driving force from the very beginning has been Damjan Babić, and the lineup was recently joined by drummer Dejan Utvar, bassist Nikola Milošević, and guitarist Aleksandar Bojković.
Their debut album Piše nam se dobro (2017) and their second album Šta si to uradio? (2019) were both released by the Croatian label Više Manje Zauvijek. What Crvi offer listeners is a raw, hard-edged energy and a sense of transcendence into the unknown – and what they deliver live goes far beyond that. Enriched with angular guitar textures and inspired, hard-hitting rhythms, even bolder in their uncompromising and unpredictable approach, Crvi continue to wander and conquer new sonic territories.
Qurdi were formed a few years ago by Stefan (vocals and guitar) and Mladen (drums), members of the now-inactive band Ženekese, together with Goran Crevar (bass), producer and recording engineer best known for his work at the Digimedia studio. The band was later joined by Ivica Marković (vocals and guitar), the driving force behind the also temporarily inactive band Nežni Dalibor.
Qurdi’s sound follows the lineage of the bands its members come from: bold, noisy guitars, striking melodies, and unconventional arrangements. The band’s name itself is a tribute to their favourite comic-book character, Kurdy Malloy, a great sage and the best friend of Jeremiah.
