'Crows' are Mick Ryan (vocals), Paul Downes (vocals, guitar, banjo, and other plucked instruments), Dave Bordewey (vocals, fiddle, guitar, mando-cello), and Pete Harris (vocals, guitar, bouzouki). They each have many years experience of working in bands, in trios, in duos and solo. Given that 'Crows' have so many vocal and instrumental resources available to them, how do they decide which instruments and voices to use on particular songs? On what basis do they decide how to use the voices and instruments that they choose? Are there any general principles that might be drawn from these specific decisions? If there are, what are they?
