CROW BABY (ART PUNK/BERLIN)
The Berlin based duo, Crow Baby, is the new project from Jean-Louise Parker and Cherilyn MacNeil – both born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, and each a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with her own projects.�In 2020 they reunited in Berlin and started a standing Friday afternoon playdate as a respite during the Covid lock-down. The result is a fearsome and wholly original Art-Pop band – „with a punk spirit!“ – which pairs a mischievous, upbeat sound with delightfully wry lyrics: a cheerleader with an untamed, rebellious streak.
In the last couple of years Crow Baby has released a string of singles, an EP and played a bunch of really fun shows (including support slots for the likes of Pom Poko and English Teacher!), and are now set to release their next single, ‘Run!’ on July 4th 2025.
Their debut album, ‘Get Yourself Together’ drops August 29th 2025 through Popup Records.
