About this Event
Subtitled “Stolen Shores,” this concert features the Queens-born Tecumseh Ceasar (Matinecock Turkey Clan of Queens - voice, drum, dance), Shane Weeks (Shinnecock Nation - voice, drum, dance), Sean Tierney (flute/ tin whistle), Denny McCarthy (fiddle), Mary Courtney (voice/guitar), and Colin Harte on voice/piano/bodhrán.
Ceasar is an advisor for the Global Indigenous Youth Caucus at the UN, and the educational program coordinator for the Niamuck Land Trust. Courtney, the Kerry-born folk and folk-rock favorite, leads the band Morning Star and has performed with Black 47. The fiddle and tin whistle virtuoso McCarthy was a multiple Fleadh Cheoil All-Ireland solo and group competition winner before moving to the States. He currently performs with the acclaimed Jameson's Revenge and the wildly popular Shilelagh Law.
