Our July garden lecture series, Saturday, July 13th, features Adrienne Roethling, Garden Curator of Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden, presenting “Crossing the Borders: Garden Worthy Plants from North America.” This talk will continue our garden focus on great plants for home gardeners and professional gardens alike! About the Speaker: After graduating from the Longwood Gardens Professional Horticulture Program in 2000, Adrienne became the Garden Curator for Juniper Level Botanic Gardens at Plant Delights Nursery in Raleigh, NC. She worked there for eight years, maintaining the seven-acre garden. She then moved to the triad in 2008 to become the Curator for Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden, a young, 7-acre public garden located in Historic Downtown Kernersville, NC, where she oversees staff, students, and volunteers as well as the plant collections and displays. She has written for Fine Gardening Magazine, the Greensboro News & Record, Yadkin Valley Magazine, Seasons at Ciener, and the Martha Stewart Living online Blog. She is currently a member of the Downtown and Leadership Kernersville Committees. She and her husband Jon also volunteer with the Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue program.
This lecture begins at 10:30 a.m. in Cullman Performance Hall at the North Carolina History Center. Suggested donation $5.
