About this Event
The Crossing Cultures Intelligence workshop has been developed to increase the cultural understanding of employees working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The seven art-based posters are used to unpack the hidden and veiled histories of Australia. The session focuses on Queensland history, government legislation, policies and other significant events that have impacted on the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Queensland. The workshop is aimed at state school staff to increase their understanding of Aboriginal peoples' history and culture, to better understand Australia's colonial past and to meet the educational outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
This PD is a starting point for staff. It is not intended to be the only cultural learning initiative that participants draw their cultural knowledge and experience.
