A concert featuring Vietnamese traditional folk songs and compositions inspired by Vietnamese culture written by the Vietnamese-Australian composer, Le-Tuyen Nguyễn.The celebration will include selected Vietnamese traditional musical materials weaved together with music of other cultures comprising Western, Indian and East European. The ensemble will consist of guitar, piano/keyboard, percussion, and choir.
This unprecedented project is an international collaboration between Dr. Le-Tuyen Nguyễn, composer and guitarist; Mr. Vladan Milencovic, pianist, composer and faculty member at Bridgewater State University (BSU); Dr. Salil Sachdev, composer, percussionist and faculty member, BSU; Dr. Sarah McQuarrie, pianist and Chair of the Music Department, BSU; Dr. Brad Dumont, Choir Director, BSU; and Dr. Ron Sherwin, Director of the Social Justice Choir and Chair of the Music Department at University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.
