Join us for Part 2 of Crossing Austin!Crossing Austin: A party in two parts is
a creative collaboration between Marvin Tate and Laura Shaeffer. Special thank you to Art Design Chicago and the Terra Foundation for American Art for funding this project.
Part one took place at Compound Yellow last year with Cristal Sabbagh's beloved 'Freedom From and Freedom To', September 21st, 2024. Due to rain, Marvin's Part 2, scheduled for September 22nd was postponed until this year.
Marvin and I are excited to present Crossing Austin Part 2, September 7th, 1pm to 4pm!
Legendary Artist and Austin native, Marvin Tate will be performing on his family’s Lawn in the curated project, ‘Crossing Austin’ along with national and international jazz improvisors, Avreeayl Ra, Mai Sugimato, Fred Jackson Jr. with special guest, puppeteer and co-founder of Elastic arts, Sam Lewis.
Time 1-4pm
Performance starts : 2pm
We encourage you to bring a blanket or a low-profile lawn chair to relax in the front seating on the grass!
