Who is it for?

Leadership, staff and volunteers from organisations in the VCS Carers Network and any other relevant local organisations.

What’s the time commitment and group size?

The topic is best delivered in smaller groups, face to face, with a lot of practical discussions and group work. The session is aimed at 16-20 participants. The training takes half a day with a break for nurturing refreshments. Two alternative session dates will be available.

Objectives

1. To learn about the importance of effective communication and ways of ensuring this.

2. To identify specific communication barriers experienced by ethnically minoritised communities when using carers support services.

3. To begin to consider and implement actions to overcome these communication barriers.

4. To identify good practice and pledge to improve existing practice, where possible.
