Seminole-Lake has held these very informative and successful camps over the years. This year, it was again time to offer a 4-day academic and flying course for the aspiring or middle skill level cross country/racing pilot. Academics will be held in the morning with flights in the afternoon. High performance two seat ships will be available on a limited basis to get some keen insight into cross country flying. The other pilots will do "lead/follow" with an instructor in another ship. Flights will be limited to a maximum of 4 gliders so we can keep everyone together. Academics and the flying portion of this course will be adjusted depending on the skill level of the pilots. We can add or change topics based on your desires. Planned topics include:
Cross Country Basics
Personal minimums, height circles and glide distance
Field Selection & Off Field Landings
Soaring Weather
Most Common Mistakes
Understanding See You and We Glide
Speed to Fly and Height Bands
Cost for the camp will be $350 which includes morning donuts/coffee and evening meals. If you just want to do the morning academics, the cost is $75/day. Fees do not include tows.
