CROP - Teen Depression & Suicide 2025
Welcome to the next CROP Gathering! In this event, we'll be diving deep into Teen Depression & Suicide in 2025.
In a recent report released by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) of the U.S. government, suicide among young people aged 10 to 14 years old has nearly TRIPLED in only the past 10 years. Among older teenagers (15 to 19), suicides increased by 76 percent. What's behind the dramatic rise in Teen Suicide?
According to Dr. Suvrat Bhargave, a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry in a recent article in The Epoch Times:
"I understand that [for parents], there is always a little bit of trepidation with talking about difficult subjects with kids. But the reality is that kids are exposed to and are becoming aware of these difficult topics. So if we’re not the ones talking about it, we don’t know where they’re getting their information, and we don’t know what solutions they’re being offered, or what they’re being encouraged to think about."
We invite you into our community, where together as a group we guide parents and teens in teaching, training, and mentoring our teens into young adulthood. We meet once a month and address relevant life topics that young people face today. There will be games, prizes, and real life stories shared. These events are free of charge and dinner will be served.
