Crocus Bowl Coil Workshop: Traditional Castleford Pottery
Join us at Queen’s Mill for a creative and hands-on pottery workshop inspired by Castleford’s traditional ceramics. Guided by our experienced potter, Sarah, you’ll learn how to plan and build your own Crocus Bowl using classic hand-coiling techniques.
You’ll have a choice of clay to work with – either an air-dry clay or a kiln-fired clay. All materials to build your bowl are provided free of charge.
At the end of the session, you’ll have a few options:
- Air-dry clay: Take your bowl home on the day and decorate it with your own materials at no extra cost.
- Air-dry clay + kit: Purchase a small decorating kit to take away, which includes paints and materials for when your clay has dried.
- Kiln-fired clay: For a small nominal fee, return to Painter Pot to decorate your piece and have it kiln-fired to achieve a beautiful gloss-like finish.
- (All options will cost less than £5 and payment can be made on the day)
This workshop is perfect for beginners and experienced makers alike.
Spaces are limited and booking is essential – reserve your spot now via Eventbrite using the QR code on the poster.
All welcome – explore your creativity, get your hands dirty, and take home a piece of Castleford history!
