Learn to Crochet Beginner Basket Date: Saturday, February 21 & 28, 10:00 – 12:00 pm
Cost: $48 per student due at sign up, maximum 12 students
Description: The perfect next step for students who have completed any of the Learn to Crochet Classes at Casting On. If you have a firm handle on the single crochet stitch we’re going to take it to the next level with this beautiful and functional basket!
Tools and Supplies:
Yarn - any super bulky weight yarn, in two or more colors. A more dense yarn will help your basket stand up. A variety of appropriate yarns are available at Casting On. I recommend lighter colored yarns with a smooth twist if you still find reading your stitches to be a challenge.
Hook – US K-10 ½ (6.5mm)
Notions – 5 locking stitch markers, tapestry needle, flexible tape measure and scissors
All tools and supplies are available at Casting On for an additional cost.
Pattern: Beginner Basket by Sarah Korth can be purchased and downloaded from Ravelry or purchased and printed at Casting On
What you need to know: You need to be comfortable with the single crochet stitch. Be able to work it confidently and read your stitches.
What you’ll learn: You’ll learn how to work a flat circle, how to work in the round, building the sides of your basket, keep track of your stitches when working in the round, and how to create even stripes.
Thank you for signing up for a class at Casting On! We appreciate your business. Payment for class is required at sign up to secure your spot in class. You may cancel a class up to 1 week prior to the start of class and the class fee will be returned to you as store credit. Our instructors rely on these classes being full as part of their livelihood. While we do maintain a waitlist, we can’t utilize it for last minute cancellations which hurts our instructor’s income. For this reason, last minute cancellation or failure to come to class without prior arrangements will not result in class fees credited.
Missed classes can be made up as a private lesson by contacting the class instructor within a week of the missed class. The class fee paid will be used as a credit towards the arranged private lesson. Time = fee, ie a $24 class is equivalent to a 30 min private lesson. If the private lesson goes beyond the equivalent, you will be charged the private lesson rate of $10/15min.
You are encouraged to pay in store (no invoice processing fees) and choose supplies for the class, please plan to do this prior to the day of class.
