Basic Stitches and Tension:
You’ll start by learning the fundamental stitches needed for crocheting, including how to create a circle of chain stitches to begin your square.
Understanding tension is crucial for consistent and neat stitches. Your instructor will guide you through maintaining the right tension as you work.
Granny Square Construction:
The heart of the workshop! You’ll discover how to work in rounds using Double stitches (also known as treble crochet) and chains to create your granny square.
These squares are versatile and can be combined to make larger projects like blankets, scarves, or even clothing items.
Reading Patterns:
Learning to decipher crochet patterns is essential. You’ll explore abbreviations and common crochet phrases.
Armed with this knowledge, you’ll be able to follow patterns confidently and create various designs.
Materials Included:
Your crochet kit, thoughtfully provided, contains everything you need:
300g of wool (random colours)
A 4.5mm crochet hook
Stitch markers
A darning needle
A complete instructions.
No worries if you’ve never crocheted before—the instructor will ensure you feel comfortable throughout the process.
Lunch Break and Follow-Up:
A well-deserved break for lunch, complete with afternoon tea featuring sausage rolls, sandwiches, cream scones and a variety of cakes along with either a glass of prosecco, cup of coffee, or tea.
(Any dietary requirements must be known at booking).
After the workshop, you’ll have the option of a free one-hour follow-up session via Zoom to address any questions or continue your crochet journey.

Booking in advance is necessary, and the exchange for this delightful event is £60.
Booking must be made on or before Sunday the 12th May to allow for ordering the afternoon tea.
