Crochet Pumpkins Class Perfect for Confident BeginnersIf you’re comfortable with the basics of crochet such as holding your hook and yarn and creating simple stitches this class is a great next step! Ideal for anyone ready to move on from Granny Squares this fun and creative workshop will help you build on your existing skills while learning new techniques to make your very own textured crochet pumpkins.
During the session you’ll learn how to create a beautifully textured crochet fabric using half treble and double crochet stitches then use basic sewing to turn your flat piece into a 3D pumpkin. You’ll have the opportunity to make three different sizes starting with the smallest (requiring approximately 50g of yarn).
You can use any colours you like whether you’re coordinating a seasonal display using up yarn scraps or choosing from the beautiful yarns available at Patchwork Dreamer.
What You’ll Learn:
A quick refresher on slip knot and chain stitch to start your project
How to crochet in rows using half treble and double crochet (and understand the difference between them)
How to calculate the size of your pumpkins
How to finish off and construct your pumpkins
How to add stalks felt details and fun embellishments
Ideas for displaying your finished pumpkins

Full day of tuition in a small group with 1:1 support as needed

What to Bring:
A basic sewing kit: small scissors pins hand sewing needle and a blunt large-eye needle for assembly
Double Knit wool (minimum 50g for smallest pumpkin) in your chosen colours—scraps are welcome!
4mm crochet hook (available to purchase from Patchwork Dreamer please let me know in advance so I have enough)
Pen and paper for notes
Optional Extras:
Bring along any embellishments you’d like to add for a personal touch—such as twigs for stalks ribbons raffia or small faux leaves and flowers.
