From holding the hook to following a pattern, make your first projects as you learn all the essentials with crochet expert Debbie Tomkies!Enjoy three sessions learning all the crochet essentials! Debbie will teach you all you need to know to get started with your first crochet projects.
Sessions are on 3 consecutive Tuesday evenings from 6-8.30pm and the course fee is the total for all 3 sessions including materials.
You'll make 3 small, fun projects, each one specifically designed to allow you to practice your skills as you learn.
No crochet skills are required - Debbie will be starting right at the beginning. Have some experience or returning to crochet? This course is also a great refresher.
What you will learn:
-Making a slipknot
-Making a foundation chain (and what one is!)
-Slipstitch
-Double crochet
-Treble crochet
-Increasing
-Decreasing
-Making a simple square (granny square)
-Reading crochet charts and patterns
-Finishing and seaming
-Tension (gauge) and why it matters
-Tips and tricks for avoiding common mistakes (and how to fix them!)
-What's included:
All materials are included - we provide quality materials - lovely yarn, crochet hook, comprehensive professionally illustrated photo handouts and a selection of Debbie's own, exclusive patterns. We also include tea, coffee and biccies!
About your tutor:
Debbie has over 12 years' experience teaching crochet and has been a published crochet designer for over 25 years so you'll be in good hands!
