About this Event
The time to prepare a communications strategy for your agency or organization is before a crisis or critical incident hits. This course leads the student through the various mediums of communications, using real world examples as case studies of best practices as well as what to avoid. From managing the message on social media to writing the news release to executing a successful news conference, students will implement the strategies they learn through practical exercises as they work throughout the day through a fictional critical incident impacting their organization. The result is practical skills students can immediately apply to successfully lead their organizations in times of crisis by appropriately informing the public.
