ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born in Italy to a Sicilian-American father and a Guatemalan mother, Cristina Vane grew up between England, France, and Italy, becoming fluent in four languages by the time she moved to the U.S. for university at 18. Despite her multicultural upbringing, she felt no strong sense of belonging. Her debut album, Nowhere Sounds Lovely, written on a road trip across America, earned praise from American Songwriter and Rolling Stone Country for its blend of blues and rock.
After graduating from Princeton with a degree in Comparative Literature, Vane moved to Los Angeles, working at McCabe’s Guitar Shop and studying fingerstyle guitar. These experiences deepened her exploration of country blues and folk guitar styles. Now based in Nashville, her sophomore album, Make Myself Me Again, reflects a journey of self-discovery and a return to her rock roots, while also incorporating elements of old-time and bluegrass music.
Don’t miss this very special opportunity in America’s oldest city, St. Augustine.
The Waterworks is an intimate, historic venue (built in 1898 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places) and only 120 tickets are available for each performance.
The Gamble Rogers Concert Series celebrates the legendary recording artist Gamble Rogers, whose balladry and storytelling shaped American folk music, on the third Saturday of each month.
