Neil Ridley is regarded as one of the most influential global drinks writers and authors as well as an in-demand presenter and host.
He has been shortlisted four times as a 'Communicator Of The Year' by the International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC) and his first book, co-written with Joel Harrison, Distilled: A Guide To The World's Best Spirits (Octopus Publishing), was awarded 'Best Drinks Book' in The Fortnum & Mason Food and Drink Awards in 2015. To date, it is the biggest selling book globally on pan-spirits, now published in 14 different languages.
In his latest book The Crisp Sommelier, Neil draws upon his years of expertise to show you how to find the perfect crisps to pair with your drink or vice versa, be it alcoholic or non-alcoholic. Think unlikely combinations like Pickled Onion Monster Munch and a gin-based Gibson cocktail to Kombucha and prawn cocktail crisps. Divided into sections including Wine, Beer and Cider, Spirits and Cocktails, and Non-alcoholic, each pairing profile includes tasting notes and humorous titbits (did you know there used to be hedgehog flavoured crisps?)
