Amidst escalating socio-ecological crises, climate movements are resorting to a diversity of tactics, from civil disobedience to peaceful protests, to political work and raising awareness. But what happens when the authorities start to crackdown on activists? Salvatore Paolo De Rosa is a researcher at Copenhagen University, with an interest in political ecology, environmental humanities, and social mobilizations. His current research focuses on the relation between climate movements’ tactics and the increasing criminalization and repression of climate activists by governments. In this upcoming talk, he will describe and analyze the trends of the criminalization of climate justice movements in Europe and Denmark, and what we can do about it.
