Katie Lord is the Economic Development Director for the City of Grimes. Her professional experience began in the Pacific Northwest and took her to Boston, Massachusetts, before settling in Central Iowa. She has held economic development positions at the Greater Des Moines Partnership, Iowa Economic Development Authority, City of Urbandale and MidAmerican Energy. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and business from Cornell College and a master’s degree in urban planning from the University of Iowa. Katie is also a wife, mom, exercise enthusiast, baker and coffee shop lover.
