Crescent City Chamber Music Festival Free Public Concert Concert No. 6 - “A Soldier’s Tale” with the Manhattan Chamber Players and members of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra
The Crescent City Chamber Music Festival (CCCMF) proudly celebrates its Tenth Anniversary Season this year with the fitting theme of "Novelty and Nostalgia." This milestone season will feature seven Free Public Concerts from October 10 – 19, 2025, offering a vibrant mix of popular performers and pieces from CCCMF’s first nine seasons and exciting new artists and presentations.
This historic collaboration of members of Ensemble-in-Residence the Manhattan Chamber Players and the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra brings you a rare performance of the original version of Igor Stravinsky’s quirky, macabre, and virtuosic “L’Histoire du Soldat” (“A Soldier’s Tale”) for narrator, violin, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, percussion, and double bass, led by acclaimed conductor Joshua Gersen.
CCCMF Founding Artistic Director Luke Fleming leads an informal Pre-Concert Talk and Q&A at 6:30 PM.
This is a free concert and no tickets are required.
