TICKETS ON SALE NOVEMBER 1ST!The Creativity Shell is a nonprofit organization on a mission to use creative trades to educate and inspire the next generation of makers. Our organization teaches classes such as sewing/textile arts, cooking, building, media, technology and more to students in our studios, libraries, schools, ABA therapy centers, the juvenile justice system as well as shelters that rescue children from homelessness and human trafficking. All classes are designed to teach children essential life skills, practical skills and positive mental health coping skills.
On April 27, 2024 our organization will be hosting our 9th annual student fashion/creativity show “Creativity Rocks!” and the theme for the year is “Making the Band.”
This event will showcase the art and creativity of 200+ K -12 students who will be working hard during the next few months to re-create a look from famous bands and musicians!
On the night of the show, each student will wear the clothing they made and will rock it down the runway in front of a crowd of 750 people in person and an additional 25000 online!
During this event, the Creativity Shell will also have the pleasure of announcing 14 amazing students who will receive the prestigious Golden Runway Award which is an award given to students when they perform in their 5th Creativity Rocks show!
From our history of working with human trafficking survivors, we believe that building confidence and self esteem in our children is the best medicine towards positive mental health. One of the most significant outcomes of the Creativity Rocks show is that it’s not easy to showcase your work in front of people and even more difficult when you are wearing it down a 50f runway! The anxiety, fear and everything that comes with that moment is a great way to build confidence and self esteem in our children and each year we look forward to seeing their smiling faces as they exit the runway.
If we can continue to find creative ways to inspire our children and to help them to feel good about themselves, they will become less likely to fall prey to the dangers of human trafficking and other dangers that continue to surround them.
