About this Event
Rosemary is a former bilingual media personality, corporate spokesperson and communications executive who transitioned to her first love, public speaking and transforming lives. In 2019, she left her role as vice president of public relations for the entertainment division at TelevisaUnivision Network, the world’s largest Spanish-language media company, to establish her consulting practice helping individuals and organizations speak with impact.
She is recognized as Americas Premier Bilingual Public Speaking Coach after working with
hundreds of high-profile leaders in Spanish and English to fulfill their fullest potential when they speak. She was the first Hispanic contributing news analyst for MSNBC and hosted numerous award-winning radio and TV shows in the New York area before moving to the Miami area to work for Discovery Channel.
Rosemary’s drive to succeed as a communicator was fueled by a chronic stutter which haunted her well into adulthood. The journey from paralyzing fear of speaking to live network television and addressing audiences of thousands informs her “spirited” coaching method based heavily on self-love and respect for your audience. During the pandemic, she adapted her coaching model for the virtual stage and created the ZoomScore™ based on 10 essential elements of professional video meetings.
Her 2023 TEDx Talk, “Slay the Dragons of Bad Communication,” explores the real and imagined obstacles to natural and memorable human connections. As co-author of The Difference: Essays on Loss, Courage and Personal Transformation, Rosemary assembled an anthology of inspiring stories of resilience and self-discovery. Her next book, titled The Joy of Thinking Out Loud, which chronicles her struggles with stuttering, will be published in late 2024.
Rosemary’s community service work includes directing PechaKucha Night Miami, the Japanese style of concise visual storytelling popular in more than 1,300 cities worldwide. Since 2020, more than 1,000 South Floridians have been inspired by dozens of local creatives and thought leaders sharing their original stories onstage. A member of the National Speakers Association, Rosemary is also co-director of the Florida Speakers Association Academy and past president of Miami-Wynwood Toastmasters.
Rosemary was born in Cuba and raised in suburban New York. She made South Florida her home in 2000 and currently lives in Doral with her beloved silky terrier named Chucho. Her hobbies include independent cinema, collage art, gallery hopping, and tours of historic places.
Title of Her Talk:
You can change the world with the power of your words. How is the failure to communicate clearly and honestly affecting our ability to work together to make a better world? Executive Speaker Coach and Communications Expert Rosemary Ravinal is on a mission to “Slay the Dragons of Bad Communication.” Drawing from her TEDx talk from August 2023 (276,000 views), Rosemary will explain how the dragons are metaphors for the many factors that hold us back from the clear, compelling, and heartfelt communication that
builds better families, communities, and businesses. These include the false belief that we have nothing of value to say and that no one will listen. Rosemary offers a surprisingly powerful secret weapon against the dragons in the form of five actions that will help unleash the powerful communicator that resides in everyone.

CreativeZen was born out of a desire for Choose954 to connect, engage, and inspire our local creative community with support from Nova Southeastern University's Alvin Sherman Library and their Circle Of Friends board. We open the doors 30 minutes before the talk starts to mix, meet, and mingle with fellow likeminded members of our community.
Every Creative Zen event includes a complimentary guided meditation before a short inspiring and thought provoking talk during the second Friday morning of the month. All Creative Zen events are free of charge and open to the community, being creative is not required!
We hope you find the inspiration you're looking for through these stories as we did, which is why we pay it back and pay it forward by continuing these events for FREE! #CreativeZen #Choose954
