About this Event
Join us for the third in the Creativity Centred: a series of lively discussions and expert lectures by Creative Central NCL and friends

In partnership with GIFT: Gateshead International Festival of Theatre, we present Performance and its Audiences – reimagining the relationship.

To celebrate their recent publication, Theatre and its Audiences: Reimagining the Relationship in Times of Crisis (Bloomsbury 2024), Kate Craddock and Helen Freshwater invite you to join them for a conversation about the shifting nature of audience experience in times of change and crisis.
Taking some of the key ideas raised in their book as a springboard for conversation, this event will be an opportunity to share perspectives and insights from across sectors.
Following the book launch and discussion we present a performance of A Citizens’ Assembly by Andy Smith.
Kate Craddock is the Founder and Festival Director of GIFT: Gateshead International Festival of Theatre.
Helen Freshwater is Reader in Theatre and Performance at Newcastle University.
Andy Smith is a theatre maker based in Lancaster, and Lecturer in Theatre Practice at the University of Manchester.
