Creative Woodworking Sessions for Women is an ongoing weekly session where you can choose and work on your own project. The sessions give you access to our Carpentry and Joinery workshop 4 times a month on a Friday.It's suitable for complete beginners as well as women who already have some experience in woodworking.
You will get expert tutor guidance to help you work on your own projects! You will learn how to realise the project of your choice from the design and planning stages to making, using the appropriate tools and woodworking techniques.
You will be able to join one additional session a month, at no extra cost! We will cover topics that are important areas of working with timber, like a visit to the local builders merchant or sawmill for demystifying ordering and buying timber for example, or building bigger structures in the garden!
These sessions will enable you to gain a solid grounding in workshop based woodworking techniques and will leave you with the ability to design, plan and realise your own projects.
You book one month at a time and we recommend that you commit to a minimum of 3 months attendance, although you can cancel giving us 4 weeks notice before the start of the next monthly block.
All tools will be provided, although you are free to bring your own and we will check if they are safe to use, show you how to use them or keep them sharp.
The sourcing of the necessary materials is the student's responsibility, as it's part of learning to accomplish your own projects. Our tutor will give you all the necessary guidance!
