USC Sumter's Creative Studio Summer Camp

Ages: Rising 6th-8th graders
Cost: $125 per student
USC Sumter’s Creative Studio is a weeklong summer camp for middle schoolers (rising 6th-8th graders). Campers will explore their creative passions through Studio Art, Musical Theatre, Creative Writing, and Art History. Each day will include hands-on workshops and collaborative projects that help campers develop their artistic voices and bring their creative visions to life.
Campers should bring a bag lunch and water bottle everyday.

Once you have registered your camper(s), we will email you consent forms that will need to be completed and returned no later than noon on Friday, July 5.
Camp Instructors:
Studio Art with Rene Thompson, Contemporary Artist and USC SumterArt Professor
Hands-on workshops where students experiment with different mediums and techniques to create their own masterpieces.
Musical Theater with Dr. Jessie Freyermuth, USC SumterAssistant Professor of Music
Students will collaborate to learn selections from popular musicals and explore singing, acting, and storytelling through music.
Creative Writing with USC Sumter English Professor Vince Frontero and USC Sumter Assistant Professor of English Dr. Paige Wallace
Young writers will craft compelling stories, poetry, and scripts, developing their unique voices through guided exercises.
Art History with Laura Hughes, USC Sumter Art Professor
Students will examine famous works of art and use them as inspiration to build their own original creations.
