About this Event
It's time to reignite that spark that you thought you had long forgotten about! This session is guided by an easy-going local artist passionate about the importance "bad art" has on the wellbeing of all people - artists and non-artists alike. This workshop is a beautiful synthesis of uplifting humour and deep self-reflection, all-the-while supported by a community of like-minded legends. You can expect some drawing challenges, group discussion, self-reflection, and plenty of laughs in this cup-filling workshop.
The main aim of this e.vent is to help you get at the heart of what stops you creating. We turn our awareness toward our creative process, rather than letting perfectionism stop us in our tracks. Exposing the truth about creativity: it is a fundamental function of our humanity - preceding skill and talent. It is the step that occurs before ‘being good’ even comes into the picture. So, for this reason, all walks of life are invited into this space to challenge their limiting beliefs around what it means to be creative. We explore these themes using drawing techniques, but the lessons underpin all creative acts and media.
This process is inherently vulnerable, so if you have any reservations about exposing your creative self in this way - that is very understandable. Let it reassure you to know that I (Tash) always prioritise creating a safe space for even the most sensitive of souls. Consequently, attendee numbers are limited - as to not dilute the quietest voices from the noise of the room. Still unsure? Feel free to send in an email with any questions you may have (there are no stupid questions) to [email protected]
...and no, you don't need any art skills, as we will focus more on the process of artmaking than on the outcome.
