About this Event
Connecting with nature, exercise and creativity are powerful tonics for our health and wellbeing. Kristina from Quirkshops is bringing all these elements together in a revitalising monthly creative nature walk at Sconce and Devon Park in Newark, Nottinghamshire. The sessions will run for 1 hour, once per month - dates will be posted on Eventbrite and Facebook.
We'll be taking a walk around the grassy, river and woodland areas, to be inspired by the colours, textures, scents and sounds of the park. These walks focus on the process of noticing and creating with nature, not the end result. Mindfulness practices help us to notice the colours, details and delights we might otherwise miss and we feel more connected with nature. Each session will take a different approach using very simple creative activities such as sculpting, drawing, printing and painting with natural materials we've gathered along our walk.
The sessions are ***FREE*** but you are welcome to make a donation. Please book a ticket on eventbrite to secure your place as there are limited spaces (or you can book direct by emailing me).
The sessions will take place whatever the weather (yes even if it rains - rain painting is great fun!) so please dress appropriately and wear comfy shoes. We'll meet outside the cafe at the Sconce and Devon park, starting promptly at 10.30am.
The sessions welcome everyone and are relaxed, informal and supportive, designed for adults and young people aged over 14 regardless of experience. Children MUST be accompanied by an adult at all times.
