About workshopA great way for anyone, beginner or expert, to spend some time repairing your clothes together with others and to get creative. You'll learn how to mend your clothes, and if you wish, create simple patterns by visible hand stitching, all guided by Kirsta McSkimming at Textile Collective. You'll also have a chance to learn more about Textile Collective, what they do and possible ways to get involved or volunteer with them.
We invite you to bring any items of clothing or textile you’d like to mend, but if you don't have anything there will be materials provided to practice on. All tools/equipment and other materials needed will be provided. This includes sewing machines, which can be used if you'd like to repair something like jeans. Most people in prior workshops tended to bring a jumper, scarf or other knitted items. But bring whatever you'd like to mend!
There will also be teas, coffees and light refreshments provided.
