Learning basic sewing skills in a small group can be a fun and enriching experience for children, equipping them with practical knowledge and nurturing creativity that can last a lifetime. Our small group sizes (max. 5) enable us to provide the utmost attention to your kids. Unlike larger classes, your child can easily approach the teacher for assistance at any moment, and we can closely monitor their progress.
Using a sewing box or sewing machine, children can create new items and learn to mend or alter existing ones, promoting sustainability and reducing garment waste. Instilling this mindset and philosophy in the next generation is essential.
Our course begins by teaching kids how to make small repairs and basic alterations, progressing to designing and creating their own items.
Program:
- Introduction to hand mending and using a sewing machine.
- Sewing basics: Children will create a pencil case or a similar small accessory from scratch, practicing fabric cutting, seam creation, and adding finishing touches.
- Exploring non-sewing repair techniques such as dry felting, depilling, and more.
- Kids can choose a project, whether it's a simple garment, a cushion, or a bag, and learn to finish seams with a zig-zag stitch to prevent fraying, create hems, and add pockets and other finishing touches.
- Art and decorations: Children will have the opportunity to create textile-based images, experiment with beading, and explore embroidery techniques.
You can book all three days for the full program or participate in just one day.
The 3-day pass is £149, and the daily ticket is £55.
Dates: 14, 15, 16 of October, 9 am-3 pm.
Age group: 8-14
We give your children the opportunity to come into our fully equipped studio, and spend a lovely time creating, playing and learning about textiles. All equipment and materials are included.

There will be a teacher with a PVG certificate and an assistant to ensure a safe and enriching experience for your child.
