About this Event
This one-day retreat, led by trauma-healing poet Kate Burns, is open to women who are recovering from sexual trauma and/or gender-based violence.
In these challenging times, some days it can feel like triggers of past trauma are lurking everywhere. At those times, the usual advice to light a candle, take a bubble bath, go for a walk, or think about something else may feel inadequate.
At this retreat, in community with other survivors, you’ll explore the depths of your inner world in creative ways that will help you reconnect with your body, compassionately engage with your emotions, and discover the power of play on your healing journey.
Together, we will practice mindful breathing and movement, engage in internal reflection through expressive writing, experiment with a color and line through a collective painting experience and create a beautiful container for your very own Emotional Care Kit.
You’ll walk away from this one-day retreat with dozens of tools and practices to help you engage more confidently and compassionately in daily life – both with yourself AND others!
As we nurture our emotional/creative selves, we will also nurture our bodies. A light continental breakfast will be provided as well as drinks and snacks. You will have the option to bring your own lunch, or add-on lunch for an additional fee.
There are only 20 spots available for this retreat, as we want to keep this experience small, personal, and tailored to each participant’s needs. So, if you are on the fence about booking, please reach out with any questions as soon as possible to guarantee that spots are still available!
Tickets are $85 (plus Eventbrite fees), or $110 with lunch add-on. If this ticket price would be a burden for you, please contact us at for possible financial assistance.
