An exciting “Creative Fun at the Humm” workshop will be held during our September Second Saturdays on Studio Row: “The Art of Collage" with Judith Ide.Join local artist Judith Ide for a "make it and take it" collage workshop. Judith says, “Life goals do not have a use-by end date!” She planned to have an art career after college but, for very practical reasons, found herself teaching. Her goal of having a working studio seemed to end as time passed. She has spent 50 years teaching in art, elementary, self-contained special education, and special education resources classrooms, channeling her creativity there. As the end of Judith’s teaching career draws near, her original goal of studio artist is coming into focus. She is looking forward to teaching the first of many workshops at the Hummingbird!
Collage can be used to express a wide range of ideas and emotions, from storytelling and abstraction to commentary on a variety of issues. It can be used to create both realistic and abstract works, and it can be applied to various surfaces and in combination with other media.
The workshop cost is $20.00, includes all materials needed, and is limited to 8 participants. Call Hummingbird at 918-764-8884 for more information and to register.
