Creative Development: Animatronics Workshop

Led by Sam Blanchard, Chair, Studio Art and Associate Professor of Sculpture, Virginia Tech School of Visual Arts

Join us for an engaging, hands-on Animatronics Workshop! In this 2-hour session, you’ll assemble a pull-string actuated hand using laser-cut components and everyday household items. Once built, you’ll learn how to animate your creation with motors and microcontrollers, bringing it to life with simple gestures. No prior experience required—just bring your creativity!
