About this Event
This creative clay class for ages 8-10 class meets four times from 10:30 am - 11:30 am on Saturdays, February 1, 8, 15, 22, 2025 at the Dougherty Arts Center. Your General Admission tickets includes all four classes.
These handbuilding ceramics classes for kids are classes where young artists learn to shape clay using their hands rather than a potter's wheel. In these classes, children explore different techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab building to create unique pottery and sculptures. They develop fine motor skills, express their creativity, and enjoy the tactile experience of working with clay. Classes often include fun themes and projects, allowing kids to make personalized pieces to take home. Each class will consist of demonstrations of clay techniques and hands on learning. Projects include, but are not limited, to animal pinch pots, coil and slab vessels, mugs, and more.
All supplies are provided. Dress for mess.
